Tunisia Cruise to quarter final after demolishing Zimbabwe

By Kofi Ampon Gyasi

The Cartage eagles of Tunisia yesterday demolished the warriors of Zimbabwe in a 4-2 riot in Libreville. Tunisia only needed a draw to seal their qualification as Group B runners up but smashed 3 goals in front of 36 minutes to make things easier for them as they finished the first half with a 4-1 lead.

The first goal came in the 9th minute when  Sliti’s 20 yard shot was deflected after he received a ball from corner which beat goalkeeper Tatenda Mkuruva.Yousesf Msakni made it two, 12 minutes after with khenissi adding a 3rd in the 36minutes.it was actually getting very bad when Tunisia were gradually tearing the warriors apart when knowledge Musona gave Zimbabwe a consolation to make it 3-1 two minutes to halftime.

Things actually got worse when Tunisia won a penalty on the stroke of halftime which Wahbi kahzri made no mistake to slot it past Mkuruva to make it 4 before the end of the first half. There wasn’t much in the second half as Tunisia had already done what it was expected, but the warriors wanted to prove a point when Tendai Ndoro scored in the 58th minute to make it 4-2 .

The game was just done after Ndoro’s goal with not much to look out for from both teams as the game ended on 4-2.Tunisia will then play Burkina Faso in 4 days time in the quarter finals.
